According to energy price monitoring data reported by various league cities, in June, the prices of thermal coal, coke, and natural gas in Inner Mongolia continued to decline, while the prices of refined oil were adjusted twice.

1、 Coal

In June, the monthly average pithead price of thermal coal in Inner Mongolia was 357.08 yuan/ton, a decrease of 9.72% compared to May (month on month) and a decrease of 10.42% compared to June 2022 (year on year). Among them, the average pit price of brown coal in the eastern region is 333.00 yuan/ton, a slight decrease of 0.21% compared to the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of 1.35%; The average pithead price of thermal coal in the Ordos region is 457.50 yuan/ton, a decrease of 21.12% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 24.38% compared to the previous year.

From the perspective of calorific value, the average converted price of 3800, 4500, 5000, and 5500 calorific value thermal coal at the pit mouth is 371.06 yuan, 372.83 yuan, 460.00 yuan, and 550.00 yuan per ton, respectively. The month on month price has decreased by 0.18%, 18.30%, 22.30%, and 16.67%, respectively. On a year-on-year basis, the price of 3800 calorific value thermal coal has increased by 1.95%, while the prices of 4500, 5000, and 5500 calorific value thermal coal have decreased by 19.66%, 25.81%, and 19.12%, respectively.

Since June, temperatures in many parts of the country have been consistently high, and daily consumption of electric coal has rapidly increased. The price of thermal coal has stopped falling and rebounded in late June. According to the prediction of the National Climate Center, the equatorial Middle East Pacific will maintain an El Ni ñ o state in the next three months, with continuous rise in sea surface temperature and the combination of moderate or above intensity El Ni ñ o events, which may lead to more frequent, wider, and stronger extreme weather events. Under extreme high temperature weather, the daily consumption of electric coal will continue to be high, which will drive up the price of electric coal. However, at present, the storage of power coal in various links is still relatively high. According to statistics from the State Administration of Railways, as of June 30, 363 railway direct supply power plants in China have stored 80.76 million tons of coal, with a consumable days of 30.6 days, maintaining a high level. It is expected that the supply and demand of electric coal will be booming in July, but due to high inventory and the replenishment of imported coal, prices will fluctuate slightly and consolidate at the current price level.

2、 Coke

In June, the monthly average price of coke in Inner Mongolia was 1643.13 yuan/ton, a decrease of 7.90% month on month and 37.64% year-on-year.

Since the beginning of this year, the price of coke has continued to decline, and by early June, it had basically dropped to the level of early 2021. Coke companies have generally suffered losses, but the price of coking coal has recently slightly increased. Driven by profit demand and rising costs, it is expected that the price of coke will rise slightly in July.

3、 Natural gas

In June, the average ex factory price, average outbound price, and average retail price of domestic LNG (liquefied natural gas, the same below) in Inner Mongolia were 4366.50 yuan, 4668.75 yuan, and 4569.13 yuan per ton, respectively, a decrease of 12.57%, 20.60%, and 8.09% compared to the previous month, and a decrease of 36.51%, 36.09%, and 33.45% compared to the previous year.

In June, the average retail price of CNG (Compressed natural gas, the same below) was 4.07 yuan/cubic meter, down 2.11% month on month and 0.34% year on year.

In July, natural gas was still in the off-season of demand. Since the beginning of this year, domestic natural gas production has continued to increase, imported natural gas prices have increased and decreased, and market supply is loose. It is expected that prices will continue to decline.

4、 Finished oil

At 24:00 on June 13th, the wholesale prices of 92 # gasoline, 95 # gasoline, 0 # diesel, and -35 # diesel were lowered to 9540 yuan, 10080 yuan, 7980 yuan, and 9177 yuan per ton, respectively. The prices of gasoline and diesel decreased by 0.60% and 0.62% compared to the previous month, and the prices of gasoline and diesel decreased by 20.32% and 21.69% compared to the previous year. At 24:00 on June 28th, the wholesale prices of 92 # gasoline, 95 # gasoline, 0 # diesel, and -35 # diesel were raised to 9614 yuan, 10158 yuan, 8050 yuan, and 9258 yuan per ton, respectively. The prices of gasoline and diesel increased by 0.78% and 0.88% month on month, and decreased by 17.36% and 18.52% year-on-year, respectively.
